Forms You Will Sign During Online Registration

We believe that clear communication is always the best policy. During the online registration process, parents and students will be asked to review and electronically sign several important forms. These forms ensure that families understand Threads’ educational approach, financial policies, expectations for student and parent behavior, and media permissions. Below is an overview of each form you’ll see during registration.

  • Tuition & Fee Payment Agreement – Parents commit to a non-refundable 40% deposit (including the registration fee), paying the remaining balance by July 31, understanding refund and hardship appeal rules, class capacity and change rules, and accepted payment methods and addresses.
  • Media Release Form – Parents can give or refuse consent for Threads to use photos/video of their child in non-commercial promotional and training materials, and that choosing refusal means their student will not be featured.
  • Risk Release & Supervision Agreement – Parents accept responsibility for medical care and insurance, acknowledge risks, and agree that a parent/guardian or responsible adult will be present in the building during class hours as required.
  • Educational Release & Acknowledgement Forms – Parents understand Threads’ classical approach with hands-on instruction, homework expectations at each level, the need for ongoing parent involvement, and classroom expectations and respect.
  • Parent Code of Conduct – Parents agree to respectful communication, to avoid disruptive or abusive behavior, to support student behavior expectations, and that violations may lead to warnings, restricted access, or further action.

Threads Programs Fee Overview

Fees at Threads of Ames are comprised of three key components: Registration Fees, Supply Fees, and Tuition Fees. These costs work together to provide a professional, resource-rich environment while maintaining our community-centered model.

Registration Fees

$200 if paid by June 15;  This fee is included in the initial 40% deposit and covers facility usage, insurance, and administrative costs.

Supply Fees

Supply fees vary by program or class and directly cover the materials needed for instruction, including lab supplies, art materials, and classroom consumables.

Tuition Fees

Tuition varies by specific program or course selection. These funds cover teacher compensation, expert curriculum design, and essential classroom resources.

*Detailed program-by-program tuition charts are available in the handbook or upon request.

Deposits, Deadlines & Registration Periods

A 40% non-refundable deposit (covering tuition, registration, and supply fees) is due at the time of registration. The remaining balance must be paid in full by July 31; students may not attend classes until the full balance is received.

Registration Periods & Discounts

• Early Bird Registration (March 15–31): 5% discount on registration and tuition fees (supply fees are not discounted).

• Regular Registration (April 1–June 15): Standard fees apply.

Late Registration (June 16–July 31): A late fee of 10% will be assessed. The final balance is due exactly one week after registration. No registrations are accepted after July 31 as all instructional bills are finalized by August 1.

• New Family Registration (March 15–June 15): 5% discount on registration and tuition fees (supply fees are not discounted).

Important Payment Notes

• Deposits are essential to secure a student’s spot, allowing Threads to order curriculum, purchase supplies, and reserve facility space.

• Supply fees must be paid promptly to ensure teachers can purchase necessary instructional materials before the start of the term.

• Tuition must be paid in full by July 31st (or the designated late-registration deadline) for students to be eligible to attend classes.

Withdrawal & Refund Policy

The 40% deposit (covering tuition, registration, and supply fees) is non-refundable. This deposit secures your student’s enrollment and allows our team to begin institutional preparations and resource allocation.

  • Before August 1: 50% of non-deposit payments may be refunded.
  • August 1st or After: No refunds will be provided for any payments made.
Hardship Appeals

We understand that hardships happen in life and we want to help. Families facing serious hardship may request a review by the Threads Board of Directors. Refunds in these specific scenarios are granted only if the Board unanimously agrees that circumstances warrant it.

All fee and policy information is subject to change before the start of the school year.
